RRME aims to close social exclusion gaps by including the underlying values of restorative justice of equality, social inclusion, diversity, power sharing and non-discrimination. RRME is adapting practices from successful social inclusion music programs in order to create a program that will capacity build teacher’s and educational professionals’s ability to promote equality and social cohesion among their students. The project goals are to remove barriers from between teachers and educational institutions, to connect teachers and educational institutions with parents and community-based professionals such as social workers through networking and dissemination events, to reduce disparities among students in terms of accessing and engaging with formal and informal education, and to benefit disadvantaged students and those at risk of leaving school early.
– Draw on the experience of teachers and educational professionals to create a program to improve the integration of children from migrant backgrounds and children at risk from exclusion from formal and informal forms of education.
– Produce an online e-course for teachers and educationalists to aid them in integrating pupils and young people through the use of restorative justice and social inclusion music programmes.
– Create an e-book that encapsulates all the learnings and evidence from the program to be disseminated widely with the aim of informing educational practices internationally.
