Misophonia is a severe and particular form of decreased sound tolerance, and discomfort in the ears or earache, associated with sound exposure.Unfortunately, is not well known to the wider public and a large number of people including children may suffer from but are not aware of it. The Misophonia@school project aims to reduce the suffering of students with Misophonia disease by raising awareness as well as educating teachers about it. This will tackle any issues Misophonia patients may deal at school and ensure they are not socially isolated because of their disease.
1.Conduct a needs analysis about Misophonia sufferers in partner countries
2.Raise awareness at school level by creating a teacher-training online course and an innovative screening protocol.
3.Provide open and scientifically-based knowledge about Misophonia related issues that can affect various emotional/educational/development processes, through the setting up and running of a European Web Resource Centre on Misophonia and the production of a methodological and scientific handbook.
