The scope of this project is the design and implementation of a Holistic Network of Learning & Cooperation on the principles of a learning community that will:
- A. Cultivate the required digital competences of educators, parents/guardians and related professionals to be able to promote and support digital readiness of children, focusing on the thematic areas of Safety from Internet Addiction and Online Bullying.
- B. Provide training and counselling support for educators, parents/guardians and related professionals on issues related to the development of a child’s digital readiness, with focus on the implementation of Empathic Active Listening techniques that will help them build a relationship of trust, interest and respect with the children. As a result, and through the development of critical thinking they will respond properly to the needs / concerns of children for the new digital world.
The project aim is to educate and support parents/guardians, teachers and professionals to develop and enhance those skills pertaining to Digital Readiness and Safety that will allow them to responsibly & safely engage with the digital technology and media, in order not only to become positive role models for the children but also to be skilled to effectively support and guide them during their interaction with the digital world.
More specificaly, the aims of the project are:
- Creation of original interactive educational & training material to be used by parents/guardians, educators and related professionals.
- Creation of an online distance learning environment (iLE) for parents, guardians, educators and professionals.
- Design and deliver of a training program for parents/guardians, educators and related professionals (Blended Learning) offering high quality, flexible learning opportunities in an experiential way for adults.
- Establishment of an e-Counseling Center, focused on the Support of Digital Readiness and the cultivation of Digital Competences of parents/guardians, teachers and professionals.
